THE STORY BEHIND PARENTPULSE

Built from a parent's question: how can we help children thrive online?

ParentPulse began as a family need and became a product vision: make digital wellbeing easier to understand, more respectful to children, and more useful for everyday family life.

WHY I BUILT IT

A personal challenge became a way to give back.

I'm a parent of two children, and I know how difficult it can be to find clear, trustworthy information about what kids are doing online and how much time they are spending there. I wanted a way to understand patterns without turning our home into a surveillance system.

That experience inspired me to build ParentPulse: a consent-based space where parents and children can look at the same simple signals, talk about what they mean, and decide together what would help next.

My hope is that this project helps other families feel less overwhelmed and more connected. It is also my way of giving back: sharing a thoughtful, privacy-first tool that makes a difficult modern parenting conversation a little easier.

WHAT GUIDES THE WORK

Small signals. Better conversations.

ParentPulse is designed around a few simple principles that shape the product, the privacy boundary, and the way families use it.

Conversations over control

The goal is not to watch children in secret. It is to give families a calm, shared starting point for better conversations.

Privacy is part of the product

ParentPulse is intentionally limited: categories and time totals, not messages, screenshots, passwords, or page contents.

Trust grows both ways

Parents stay informed, children see what is shared, and every connected device can be paused or disconnected.

THE PARENTPULSE PROJECT

A practical companion for healthier digital routines.

ParentPulse turns a consented browser connection into simple daily and weekly summaries. Families can notice study time, entertainment time, and changing patterns without exposing the details of what a child reads or writes.

A FAMILY PROJECT

Helping the next generation build focus, too.

My son Adil created Claritas as a summer 2026 project: a Chrome companion that blocks distractions, supports focus sessions, organizes tasks, and makes progress visible. It is a wonderful example of turning an everyday challenge into something useful for other students and builders.
